Kimmie is a professional dancer and artist based in Naarm (Melbourne, VIC). Beyond a discipline that has been practised for 20+ years, dance is a medium of expression for Kim. Driven by her desire to continuously apply herself in other aspects of her personal development, her movement quality is influenced by understandings of gender, cultural and sexual identity.
With a background in classical styles including ballet and contemporary, she has undertaken her training in Sydney with reputable institutions including McDonald College, Newtown High School of the Performing Arts and The Next Step Performing Arts, and also working with contemporary companies such as Locreado Dance Company.
Most recently, her move to Melbourne has seen her branching out into commercial styles joining Boss Dance Company allowing her to develop her versatility and adaptability. By learning multiple movement styles, she was able to develop her own movement qualities, seeing her within the experimental and commercial contemporary scene in Melbourne.
Her interest in dance extends to movement direction in high fashion shows and films, with plans to move to London to pursue such endeavors.
